About the event

Join us for our free Second Saturday program of every month which includes a 90 minute education session beginning at 9:00 am and a support group meeting directly afterwards at 10:30 am. Come for one or both sessions. The morning program provides powerful tools and coping skills for you the caregiver and respite is available each month for your loved one from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm with advanced registration.

This month's topic: Daily Meditations for Caregivers, A Workshop

This workshop will explore writing as a tool for healing and reflection specifically focused on the experiences of caregiving. No writing skills needed, just come with your stories. Often, they are buried in our hearts, waiting to be honored. Through words and stories, we will explore the rugged and beautiful terrain of your caregiving. Feel free to bring your own writing tools or a laptop.

Presented by Patricia Hoolihan, writing instructor and teacher at The Loft, a Literary Center and Metropolitan State University and author of multiple books including the caregiver meditations book, "Hands and Hearts Together."

Past caregiver education topics have included mindfulness based stress reduction, food and your mood, health care directives, new advances in Alzheimer's treatment and an introduction to watercolors.
